"Facing your Giants"
How to Face your Giants
Hope you know that God never told the israelites about the giants in the promised land? When Abraham was called, he wasn't told it would take him 25 years (the giant of delay) before he would get the promise.
God sometimes withholds the whole details of the journey to train us to trust him and keep us from being afraid. When you know all the details, you will resort to your own ways to solve your problems and may likely not call on God. Hence the steps and not the leaps of the righteous are ordered by the Lord. God leads us by steps.
Every promised land has giants. Giants are simply those things that make us feel inadequate in the promises and plan of God for our lives. They are those obstacles or difficulties we face when we are walking in the will of God. Some forms of opposition that we have to combat in our journey of life. Apostle Paul describes it this way:
1 Cor 16:9 For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries.
Giants are in various forms. They can be internal as well as external. One can face the giant of unbelief, fear, delay, barrenness, sickness, poverty, joblessness, and the list is quite endless.
Now we already know that there are bound to be giants on the way to greatness. Let's now consider a few possible biblical ways to combat these giants.
How to combat these Giants:
1. Be sure you are in the will of God. God will always be with you when you are in his will and not on your own selfish ambition.
2. Maintain a positive disposition. Never look down on yourself. Choose to see the positive side of every situation.
3. Take away your buts and cants. Believe that despite any situation, you can and you're able to overcome and come out strong. Turn your impossibles to I am possible.
4. Don't evaluate the faithfulness of God by the size of your opposition or circumstance but by the track record of his faithfulness.
5. Refuse to listen to any form of negativism. Avoid pessimistic people. Stay around positive people.
6. Watch what you say about God, yourself and the circumstances you are in. Choose to speak God's word.
7. Disdain your opposition and talk light of it. Like David boast about what you can do through your God. Use your words in the place of prayer and positive declaration.
No matter the giants facing you today like Joshua and Caleb said in Numbers 13:30 "... Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.
Do have a blessed day.
